HEAD CHAIR
Nadine Fernando |
from the head chairHi delegates,
My name is Nadine, and I am currently in my final year at ISPP. In my final year, I have the greatest pleasure of taking on the role of Head Chair in HRC. This, sadly, is my fourth and final year of chairing and I am really excited to take on the job of being in HRC. I have been a part of MUN since the start of JGA days in grade 7 and have participated in conferences every year since. If this is your first time joining MUN, I am certain that you may feel the same way. When I’m not focussed on MUN in the year, I spend my time pressing through my final year of IB DP, playing sports such as Basketball and Volleyball and taking part in the secondary production–yes that is a lot of work. In my years of MUN I have always seen great importance in the Human Rights Council. In a world where the most basic fundamental rights are violated, now is the moment to come together, recognize, and discuss issues such as forced marriage, sexual violence and the right to education. With a theme such as “Giving Youth a Voice” it is important to understand that we as the youth have a responsibility to tackle the issues that regard Human Rights. Many of you may be new or returning to MUN, but no matter the committee that you are in, I am sure you will all partake in fruitful debates, and have a wonderful time. All the best, Nadine |
DEPUTY CHAIR
Min Chae Kim |
from the deputy chairHi delegates!
I’m Min Chae Kim, a senior attending Logos International School. I’ll be your Deputy Chair for HRC. This is my second time chairing. I’m really excited to chair for HRC, as it’s one of my favorite committees. MUN has been a real passion for me ever since I joined, hence I am here chairing for you guys! It also helped me learn that I enjoy public speaking; it wasn’t my thing until I was forced to try. I enjoy horror movies, so if you guys want to start a convo with me, there’s a start for you! If you guys have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to ask me or the head chair. It’ll be a better experience if you prepare yourself, so get ready. Looking forward to meeting you all. Thanks, Min Chae |
