HEAD CHAIR
Makara Poy |
from the head chairWelcome delegates to GA2,
My name is Makara Poy, a senior student at the Liger Leadership Academy. It is my utmost honor to share my last high school MUN conference with all of you. Three years ago, I embarked on my first MUN journey at ISPP, and I know how nerve-racking it is to debate on various controversial topics, and to collaborate with a lot of new people. Consequently, as your chair, I promise to assist you in whatever way I can. I cannot stress this enough but please do contact me or ask me whenever you are confused or have questions. As you transition into researching and learning more about the topics, I wish you all the best. I hope that you come prepared with background knowledge and readiness to collaborate and debate because those are what count the most. MUN has driven me to be more curious of the complexity of the world as well as inspired me to major in International Relationships/Political Science. And above all, MUN is where I meet cool people and make friendship. Let’s try our best to make this conference memorable and fun, and of course, have fruitful debate! Keep up the good work, we’re nearly there! See you soon! |
DEPUTY CHAIR
Chang Hyun Park |
from the deputy chairHonorable Secretariat members and esteemed delegates,
I am Chang Hyun Park, a senior from Saigon South International School in Ho Chi Minh City. I am very honored to be serving you as the Deputy Chair of the General Assembly 2. This conference will be my first and last MUN conference in ISPP as I am graduating this year. General Assembly 2 is one of the biggest committees that exists in the United Nations. In our committee, delegates will be mainly debating on global finances and economic matters, in order to resolve worldwide challenges. For this conference, our committee is going to challenge the questions of automation of jobs, investing in agricultural technology for sustainable development and providing fair job opportunities for youth. Furthermore, I assume there are few scared new delegates. For these delegates, my advice is to do a lot of research beforehand. From my MUN experiences, delegates can only make valid claims when delegates are well prepared without any flaws in resolutions and speeches. Going to MUN conference without any research is like going to school without books and laptop; in MUN being knowledgeable is the biggest strength. Nevertheless, I would like all of our delegates to make precious memories from this conference, as I think MUN is supposed to be entertaining. I hope to see “fruitful” debate and discussion. Can’t wait to see you guys in conference! See you soon! Chang Hyun Park |
