HEAD CHAIR
Charlotte Ke |
from the head chairGreetings Delegates,
My name is Shar Latt / Charlotte Ke, a senior from the European International School Ho Chi Minh City. I am honoured to serve you as the Head Chair of the Security Council. The purpose of the Security Council is to find solutions to the global issues that threaten the maintenance of international peace and security, and this year, we are given the opportunity to explore and debate upon various topics with aspects to international peace and stability. I understand that some of the delegates may feel stressed out if this is your first time participating in the Security Council, but don’t worry I have been there, done that. Security Council may sound scary but it’s how much research you have done prior to the conference that counts! To all the Delegates, I wish you well in your research but please try not to pull all-nighters. Because again I’ve been there, done that and trust me, your performance will be much better to come prepared with enough sleep. Looking forward to see you all soon! Charlotte |
DEPUTY CHAIR
Ryan Varma |
from the deputy chairDear Delegates,
My name is Ryan Varma, I’m a Sophomore (10th grader) from Singapore American School, and I am honoured to be serving as your Deputy Chair of the Security Council along with Charlotte. This will be my 7th MUN conference, and my second time chairing. I started MUN when I was in 8th grade and have worked in a variety of committees representing a variety of nations. But besides MUN, some of my personal interests include playing sports. I love playing tennis; although, I can’t stand watching it. I do, however, enjoy watching a range of movies all the way from the 1950’s and back, to the present. Security Council provides the opportunity to create solutions to pressing issues that threaten our international community, as well as, provides a platform to debate a variety of topics present in the committee. Given our three topics this conference, you all will have the opportunity to fight for peace and stability in different regions around the world, and brainstorm solutions that might in fact be answers to some of the international community's biggest questions today. Both Charlotte and I are extremely excited to meet you all. We are sure that it will be an exciting and resourceful three days of debate. Looking forward to seeing you all soon! Ryan |
